structure
structure explores the ever changing structure-construction of things. These things are the constructions we live in such as for example social & cultural constructions, modes of behaviour, traditions, repetitive patterns, schools of philosophy and physical constructions such as architectural creations, animals, mountains, lakes. The constructions are in constant interaction and a slight change can trigger a chain of alterations (result of change, causal effects, chaos, interferences etc.). There seems to be an underlying (?variable or constant?) structure that hold together those constructions.
I am interested in the following questions:
What happens if there is a change in structure? What impact and how much of an impact does it have on the constructions and are all the constructions affected by it? How much does a change in structure alter the constructions?
What happens to the structure if there is an initial change in the constructions (eg. change of form or content, removing elements/parameters) and can a change in the constructions actually have an impact on the structure?
- Apart from the questions above I would like to explore 'the degrees of deviation': Based on the idea that everything one creates is more or less an act of copying (eg a drawing of a tree -> from a real tree or an imagined tree) with various degrees of deviation (level of abstraction, super realism, conceptual interpretation etc.) I would to examine how elements and changes in construction(s) alter ideas, existing works, images etc.
- Further to the third question, structure explores the complex field of chaos and order. See work #5: tribal connections.
