Catholic vantage
- pop, crass, badly designed but cool uber-kitschCatholic Vantage is a visual exploration delving into the representation of Christian elements, blending universal beauty with a contemporary twist. These sarcastic, uber-kitsch collages, digitally crafted from my own photos, weave together stories of universal appeal and modern commentary. As a response to the fast-paced art market and information age, each collage becomes a mass-product, echoing the commercialization of art. The essence lies in the raw digital file—the holy grail, the 1s and 0s conveying the core information. Sized at 100cm x 100cm, these works can be reproduced on various mediums like aluminium dibond or acrylic.
The original artwork resides in the digital realm, stored on a USB stick or in a cloud, while authorized copies are classified as commercial or artist copies. Commercial duplicates are available online, and artist copies can be ordered directly from me. Ownership details are registered, and certificates of authenticity accompany both original and artist copies. This series, at its heart, questions the duplications of truth and the commercial nature of art in today's interconnected world.
